Happy Birthday Father David

My birthday is this Sunday, May 27th on the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. It’s nice to know, that I share such a special important day with God this year. I am turning 47 years old, in case you were wondering. I found some interesting birthday quotes that people have offered:
“Count not the candles…see the lights they give. Count not the years, but the life you live.”
“Happy birthday! May your Facebook wall be filled with messages from people you never talk to.”
“Forget about the past, you can’t change it. Forget about the future, you can’t predict it. Forget about the present, I didn’t get you one.”

Usually, the first Saturday of June marks the Diocese Priest Ordination. However this year, there are no new men being Ordained to the Priesthood for our Diocese. The Bishop has asked that each parish say a special Mass for Vocations during the time the Ordination would normally be held. So, Saturday, June 2nd, at 10AM, we will celebrate a Mass for Vocations here in the parish. Please pray for Vocations.

A new section in the bulletin is titled: “Community Corner” in which, we will display a photo(s) of parishioners during various events held here in the parish. If you have a couple photos of yourself or others at a church event, please send them to the office e-mail at: stjlicoln@gmail.com I do not promise they will be featured but we will try. Hope you enjoy!

May we take time this Memorial Day to remember and pray for those who died serving in the American Armed Forces.

God bless you.
