St. Joseph Feast Day Celebration

We finished the video series, Pivotal Players, on Mardi Gras Tuesday, with style; by decorating and sharing a delicious Mardi Gras King Cake. Inside the cake, the bakery hides a small plastic Baby Jesus figurine. As the tradition goes, the person whose slice contains the hidden Baby Jesus, will have “good luck” for the entire year. Lisa Gutro was the lucky one! Please see photos below.

Thank you to all who attended the video series, contributed yummy goodies, and helped with set-up/clean-up; especially Denise Rush and Millie Berry. This Spring, we will present Bishop Barron’s newest video series, titled: The Mass, “Be transformed through this most privileged and intimate encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ.” The trailer looks fantastic! Stay tuned, coming in late Spring!

This Saturday, March 16 is the parish’s annual “Eileen Diaz Saint Patrick Celebration.” It’s named after the late Eileen Diaz and her husband James. Years back, they said “yes” to cooking and chairing an Irish Dinner/Dance for the parish. We began small and each year it has grown bigger over the years. Eileen was Irish to the core, and we miss her; we will raise a toast in her memory. I am thankful to Chef David & Patty Paradis, the Chairperson: Margaret Sweeney, and the entire St. Pat’s Committee members, who worked tirelessly to organize this wonderful celebration. Join us! $12 Adult, kids 8 under, free. Traditional Irish Dinner, Shepard’s Pie, Mac ‘n Cheese, B.Y.O.B., Irish Soda Bread, Dessert & Coffee, Irish Kid Step-Dancers, Big Raffle (over 30 gift certs. prizes raffled individually) special guest
accordionist: Mark O’Rosier, 50/50 raffle, The Firehouse DJ’s, games, fun and dancing.

This Tuesday, we will celebrate our Patron Saint, St. Joseph, on his Feast Day, March 19th. We will begin with Mass at 5PM, followed by a Prime Rib Dinner (donated by a generous parishioner) in the church hall. Please bring a side dish to share. A basket for self-will donations accepted to support the parish “poor box” fund. During this dinner, we will also “Welcome” all new parishioners this past
year(s), giving them a gift bag with items of “warm welcome.” Please come and fellowship!

May God continue to bless our little spiritual home here in the White Mountains!
