Last week, the Faith Formation students got together for our monthly gathering and shared what we’ve been learning in our lessons. Mrs. King shared what she learned about the first Thanksgiving…Squanto was a Catholic, so Thanksgiving has its roots in our Catholic history. Who knew!

We are planning to have a Children’s Choir again this year for the Children’s Christmas Eve Mass. Please let Mrs. King (348-8166) know if you are interested in participating. Rehearsals will be on Mondays at 4:00 pm starting November 27.

That’s it for now! God Bless!

Our first Bake Sale was held this past weekend! What a great turn-out…we had a wide variety of baked goods, and Brianna and Dylan Blood (and their mom!) did a great job of packaging and selling them! Thank you to all the families for their contributions and to everyone who purchased something! Our next Bake Sale will be Sunday, December 10.

The next Faith Formation gathering is this Thursday (11/9) from 5:00 – 6:30. We will meet for 5:00 Mass and then gather in the meeting room downstairs for activities and snacks.  Our focus will be Thanksgiving from a Catholic perspective. As always, we invite you to join us and help us learn more about our faith.

Our next Faith Formation gathering will take place on Thursday, November 9th. We will attend 5:00 pm Mass (families are invited to join us) and then gather in the meeting room to learn about Thanksgiving as a Catholic celebration. Even I learned something new in researching this topic! As always, we invite families and all parishioners to join us in our journey to learn more about our Catholic heritage!

After attending 5:00 pm Mass with our families on October 12, we gathered downstairs to honor the Saints whose feast days are celebrated in October. We focused on our Guardian Angels; St. Teresa of Avila (Spain); St. Therese, The Little Flower (France); St. Luke (Greece); and St. Francis of Assisi (Italy). We snacked on ice cream topped with cookies from the country the Saints lived in. We also made Sacrifice Beads, a tradition started by St. Therese, the Little Flower. The ten beads are strung so they can slide each time a sacrifice is made in God’s name. The beads can also be used to pray a decade of the rosary. Hopefully the children will use the beads to think of others and honor God as the Saints did in their own way

Sunday, October 29th
After 10:00 am Mass

Faith Formation Families will be hosting bake sales throughout the year to support a variety of programs in the Parish. Keep a look-out for announcements and reminders!

Happy Easter to all!

At our last Faith Formation event April 6th, the students walked the Stations of the Cross with Father Dave using prayers and reflections specifically designed for children. We also learned about Holy Week and watched a video about the Passion of our Lord and His resurrection. The students have a good understanding about this special time and were ready to celebrate our Lord’s victory over sin!

Please pray for our Confirmation students who will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, April 30 at 6:00 at St. Rose’s in Littleton. They’ve worked hard to learn their Catechism, have volunteered their time and talents to our Parish ministries, and have prayed and celebrated their faith with other teens at Youthfest at St. Anselm’s. God bless them as they receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit who can help them spread the Good News of the gospel!

Our next Faith Formation gathering will be May 4th. We will attend the 5:00 pm daily Mass and recognize the students who will receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist later in May. We will also crown our Blessed Mother, Mary, and thank her for her intercessions on our behalf. We hope you will join us for this special event!

Please feel free to contact Paula King at peking@together.net if you have any questions about our Faith Formation program. God bless!
