Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
As I write this column, parts of the interior of the church building are under renovation, particularly, the deteriorated and torn carpeting is being replaced and new pew frontals are being installed. Many thanks to the private donors whose generous contributions have wholly funded the project. Thanks to Steven Babin who has managed the removal and installation of the carpet, and thanks to his team of coworkers, Margaret Sweeney, Colin McIver, and Mike Iarocci who helped remove the blue chairs and kneelers from the nave and narthex. Many of the chairs and kneelers were donated to local non-profit organizations; the few that were stained and broken beyond repair were discarded. A special word of thanks goes out to Millie Berry, a devoted parishioner and an EM at our 10:00 A.M. Sunday Masses, who donated $18,000 to cover the cost of the new carpeting and its installation. We owe a great deal of gratitude to all our benefactors – and especially to Millie – for their support of St. Joseph’s, both prayerful and financial.
With prayerful best wishes,
Fr. John Mahoney
