God’s Word

God’s Word reveals your identity, heritage, origin and ability in Christ Jesus; it’s a mirror. Many people are unknown to this fact and struggling spiritually, physically and mentally today. Our responsibility is to accept the picture of us that the Divine Word projects, and live accordingly and share our experience with our brothers and sisters around us through which we can lead everyone to the same goal, that is the actualization of the New KINGDOM OF GOD here on earth. I love this Analogy When GOD wanted to create the fish, HE spoke to the sea, when GOD wanted to create the trees, HE spoke to the earth, but when GOD  wanted to create Man, HE spoke to Himself. Then GOD said, “Let US make Man in Our image, according to Our likeness. If you take a fish out of the water, it will die and when you take a tree off the ground, it will also die. Similarly, when Man is disconnected from GOD, he dies. GOD is our natural environment. We were created to live in HIS presence. We must be connected to HIM because only in HIM there is Life. STAY CONNECTED TO God always. Remember….. “GOD without Man is still GOD but Man without GOD is Nothing”. Stay OBEDIENT to God and His word so that we will come to know our identity as the children of God and remain the same forever.

Faith Formation News

Last Sunday, Faith Formation students and their parents made Valentines and delivered them to residents at Lincoln Green. We had a great time…the kids worked together to assemble the gifts while parents cheered them on (and lent some help as well!). Thanks to Annie Anderson for the craft and to everyone who participated!
Upcoming events include a bake sale the weekend of Feb 22-23 and the start of our Easter Basket Collection the weekend of March 8. Stay tuned for more details!
Finally, please keep Camden Anderson, Ian Anderson, and Max Whitman in your prayers as they prepare to receive Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist on Sunday, March 15 during the 10:00 Mass.

Talking to God

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).

The other day a good friend of mine sent this beautiful anecdote which I wrote here. Do you know why birds do not fall from the tree branch, even when they sleep? The secret is in the tendons of the birds, when the knees bend, the feet hold firm. The feet do not let go of the branch until it unfolds the knee to fly.  The bent knees give the birdie the strength to hold anything. Isn’t that wonderful? The Creator, God, did not make us different from the birds…… when we feel insecure, threatened ….. When everything is difficult, our greatest security comes from a bent knee before God in prayer! Bend your knees and talk to God, it is HE who renews our strength and faith. GET EXCITED ABOUT your life and nothing to get worried because the Creator is with you and He is holding you firm. Fight off everything that you find it difficult by filling your mind with abundant thoughts of love and faith, thoughts of God and glory, thoughts of this world and beyond. Make plans for what you want to do. Every day is a gift. Live it that way.

Letting God Take Control

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7).

Everyone wants to live life to the fullest, however, sometimes it becomes impossible when we encounter various problems in our daily life. We try to push them away but they still keep coming back as a boomerang. Most of the time we live with the various problems that we face daily, our life becomes more miserable and complicated, and not having control over our life. Later what happens is that it will soon take over our lives and make our life more messy and dangerous. Now I remember something I read on a poster “you relax on a plane even though you don’t know the pilot: you relax in a ship, even though you don’t know the captain. You relax on a bus, even though you don’t know the driver. Why don’t you relax in life knowing that God is in total control?”  Yes, let God take the wheel off our hands and take full control over our life journey. When we find that we are in the presence of the One who is not only all-powerful but also all loving and all merciful, we should be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief and turn our absolute trust on Him. Then all the problems we face will not be a botheration and not an issue for us anymore because deep within our lives we feel His guidance. Moreover, it should give us great comfort and trust that the all powerful God is in total control and will be able to do everything for us because he cares for us.  Let our prayer be: “Lord I trust in you and You can do all things for me.”

Notes from the Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC met on January 14 and discussed the Parish calendar for the next six months. Faith Formation events, bake sales, Knights of Columbus blood drives, and Parish events were all included. Remember to check the bulletin for updates and reminders!

Couple of notes…

We will be celebrating the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist with three of our Faith Formation students on March 15, so we will not be having a St. Patrick’s Day event this year.

We will honor the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker with a Novena culminating in a dinner on Friday, May 1st. If anyone is willing to help in any way with this event, please let Annie Anderson, Eddie Rush, or the Rectory know.
