Voting for the Common Good:  A Call to Political Responsibility

God has given each of us a mission “to ‘go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation’ (Mk 16:15)” (Evangelii Gaudium, no. 181). Our relationship with God leads to the desire to build a world focused upon dignity, respect, justice, and peace. We are called to pursue the common good and make choices in political life based not on what will be most advantageous to us personally, but rather what is in the best interest of society as a whole. And when we think about society as a whole, we pay    special attention to those who are in most need of our compassion and help.

Facility Update

During the first week of October, there were many important and necessary updates to the church building.  John Misci, of Artglass by Misci, began the installation of the restored stained-glass windows in the nave and narthex.  The beauty of the work done thus far is apparent, but the continuing reconstruction of the walls and supports is a labor-intensive process.  John MacDonald, of MacDonald Property Management, replaced the rotors and fans in the church’s mini-splits that provide heat and air-conditioning; thankfully, he donated his time and labor on the project.  Dan, of New Hampshire Elevator, replaced control panels in the church elevator doors to keep them from jamming open or shut; good timing, since the State of NH Department of Labor will be coming soon for our annual elevator inspection and the requisite coordination of the emergency alarm systems.  Jonathan Adams, of J S Adams Locksmithing, continues his work of ensuring the security of the church building.  Thank you to these and all our vendors for their invaluable help and generosity!
